Hi! This is Alex Ryan and welcome to 10publicspeakingtips.com. Today's lesson is all about question type. Now if you are giving a presentation and somebody puts a hand up and say, hey I have got a question Alex. What do you do? Do you stop the presentation? Do you right over yourself and like get confused and say, okay well I was in the middle of something, but I will answer your question? No.
You can't to that, but what it's even better is to say; and you can point this out to the person, you don't necessarily have to be rude about it. Just say, listen just for a note for everybody I am sure I am tired, but we do have a question time at the end. So if you have any questions, get a piece of pen and paper, jot it down and I will answer it clearly at the end and continue your talk. This isn't being rude, this is being honest.
If somebody asked you the question, this disturbs you and it would take you longer to get back to the topic. So the focus for the audience is getting information and that's going to -- by asking questions during your presentation. If that's going to derail you and confuse you then leave question time to the end.
That's what I have taught for today. My name is Alex Ryan and if you haven't yet gained instant access to a free 30 minutes ODR, head over now to 10publicspeakingtips.com. I will see you there.
