Hello everyone. Hello everyone. Hello everyone. Do you not now…
Now to the questions, our first question comes from Feel the Beat, and he wants to know, what is the music in the BFG Episode that is playing during the laser duel? I actually, found this music on Garage Band. It is also in the library for sound track pro. But the track is called Orchestra Strings ’08, and it is like- you get the idea.
Next question, the Skate Rippers is wanting to know what camera do we use during that Turbo Mini Gibb test film. And, I am going to assume he means a quick camera is actually mounted on that Turbo Mini Gibb. Because turbo mini Gibb is such a light set up, we wanted to use the lightest camera we had in the office. What that is, is basically is the brand new “Sanyo EXACTY HD Camera” I think it is called the HD2, it is their newest one. It is great camera shoots in a HD right to an SD Card, it is beautiful, and it looks like Optumusprime’s blaster. Talk about from the cartoon, not that crappy movie that came out this summer.
Magic man Ben from YouTube writes in and says, “My camera does not have an audio input. Can I still shoot what the shot gun microphone?” The answer to that question is yes, but you are going to need additional equipment because you can not hook up a microphone to your camera. You will have to get a microphone and hook it to some other kind of audio recording device like a dot recorder, I mean that is probably the professional answer. But a really good minimum budget—solution is a mini disc player. Now, this are not popular anymore, but they are pretty great, they are portable and they record straight to digital and they all have, you know, microphone inputs. But if are going to go this route, you have to really consider the money and the travel you are to go through. You are going to have sink up your audio and video and pause, so you have to use a clapboard or something else, and you have to buy a mini disc player, you know, I guess you already have the microphone. So, when you look at that, you might just want to go out and buy a new camera. You can get pretty decent cameras with audio inputs for like $400.00 or $500.00.
Everyday, your fingers makes countless selfish clicks. How any couple for your friends? Share any moments, it is easy as one, two, three, and then you can get back to whatever else to what you are doing.
Without a helmet, wants to know, how do you get the timing right when filming a cloning effect? Now, while using the cloning effect, there are two ways to get that conversation timing right. One is just to have like a friend off camera, really keeping track of time. They could write it out, use a stopwatch and let you know, give you visual queues or something to let you know exactly when you should answer your clone.
The second way, which is the way Steve used, is to only have one or two lines per static shot. So, basically, Steve would shoot one clone in the same shot say something. His other clones next to him the same frame say something else and then cut to a close up of his other clone. That angle change so the close up gives you total freedom in the editing room to kind of tweak your audio, tweak your timing more correctly, and get that fixed. We watch Steve’s cloning episode and you will see pay special attention to how he cuts it and you will see if there is never, usually more than one or two lines per conversation per shot that was probably confusing watch Steve’s thing.
Okay, we have another camera question from Robbie453 and he wants to know what we use for the Yolk back Mountain Special. If you did not see this, Justin and Steve whip this up for filmfights.com. It is a hilarious little ramp about Steve and his love of an egg. Check it out, Yolk back Mountain. But Robbie wants to know what camera we use for that and that is a Sony V1U, which is the same camera that we use when we do our supper slow motion. It is kind of like our extra fancy super snazzy camera. So, you know, we got two and a half gees lying around, speak one up, it is pretty nice.
