Welcome to Q and Eric. Where I answer your questions and if you do not like my answers I will blow your ass away. Let us start it off with the video question from Evan.
Evan: Hi Indy Mogul, I have a quick questions about my camera it is like a Sony DCR TRV16 and it shoots in VHS, and I do not really know how to edit in VHS. So, I shoot it in this little 8 mega bite memory card that came with it, but the video quality is very poor and I do not know how to fix this. So, do you guys have any knowledge of what I should do?
Eric: Now, I did a little research in the DCR TRV16 is actually a mini DV camera. It is older but still pretty decent and you should be able to just hook this up to your computer via Fire Wire whatever kind of editing program you want and deal with the footage like that. You should not stop with a footage like that 8 mega bite memory card. Use the camera Mini DV, Fire Wire to your computer and then you can edit.
Taylor Van Man AB8 wants to know how you can get a cool night vision effect. I can think of two good methods. One, old Sony cameras have pretty much night vision built in. You do not have to create an effect, just turn it on and shoot at night. The second way, if you do not have a night vision built in, is a shoot maybe like day for night, and then color correct the crap out of it. Just make everything all green. Maybe, digitally add like numbers, a little icon at the bottoms so, good, it looks like you are looking through this high tech piece of machinery.
Speaking of putting your text on your screen, paint face rat 25 wants to know “How do I make words pop up on my video?” This is actually a really simple edition that any editing program should be able to do in Final Cut Preston’s, they have got tons different ways and methods you can put text they have got. Just regular plain one, scrolling, star wars style. They got like type writer stuff, any editing program should have a text editor built in.
Preston’s, and Final Cut you will find it under filters, then video generators and then text editors. There is like Borris, there is just like the Apple ones, they are really easy to find and super easy to use. Use pretty much type you want, move it wherever you want it, change your color whatever, you are good to go.
This is a lot easier than it used to be back in the day, I had my step dad’s old JVC camera and there were actually a text generator plug in, that looks like a TV remote. We would plug it in to the VCR and you will seat there and go up and down, up and down like putting your initials in a video game and just write “The End” in five pixels font, it was beautiful.

Male: I am having trouble with my green screen, my skin tone gets kind of skid out.
Eric: If you are trying to key out your screen and your skin ends up keying out as well. Well, there must probably one or two problems. Either you are not lighting your screen well enough or more than likely you are standing too close to your screen and you are actually getting reflections off the green screen. So, you are actually getting green reflections on your face, you can repeat saying that and make that disappear as well. Just stand a little bit further away.
Male2: I am making a super hero film and one of the guys has a little fangs sticking out of his arms, to clippie boys and stuff and I do want to know how to make those stable and how to make them like they were molded into a skin?
Eric: Fangs on arms, genius. I am stealing your idea. No, I am just kidding. I would make sure the base of the fangs are nice and wide. They are nice and light and hallow and you use a bunch of spirit gum and liquid; latex to attach it and it should be stable and on there. But I want to see how it turns out. So, when you do it, send us pictures.

Male4: What makes a good movie? Great actors. Passion and love towards movie. Quotable lines, likeable characters, non-deranged bad guys.
Female: Plot makes a good movie because even if the rest of the movie sucks, if the movies have a good plot then you can come imagine what it is supposed to be like.
Male 5: Really, really funny humor and good dark spots.
