Male1 Welcome to the first Q & Erik of 2008. Our new year’s resolution was to answer more video questions. That is all we are doing in this episode. Thunder cats go!
Female1 I just wanted to ask when Michael used a Canon camcorder or any kind of camcorder. Whenever I record on the TV, there is always this lines appearing and I just wondering if there is anything that I can do to stop these lines.
Male1 Alright, Kelly London, these lines are caused because the scan rate of your TV is different from your camera and there are a few solutions to this problem. One, if you can shoot an LCD monitor or TV instead of a regular TV, this will cut out most of that lining interference, two, some cameras like my DL2 have a special feature we can actually adjust, the scan rate frequency, I only know the signs behind it. Anyway, you can adjust it to match the TV therefore cutting out the little interference. Unfortunately, this is not a common feature so your camera probably does not have it.
Three, put a green screen over the TV screen and then key in whatever kind of video you are trying to show you can key it in and imposed, four, shoot some video of your TV, just turn it off and get some video of a blank TV. Try and line it up, maybe straight up so that the TV is not at an angle then use your video editing program to superimpose that video in the little box like this, we will put on right here and just imagine this box then put it over a blank TV. Either way this can be a difficult challenge to overcome. If you come up with a better one, send it in. If you have any better ideas, comment down below, next video question.
Male2 Hi, Indy Mogul, I am a big fan of show. Two things as you can see it back here. My green screen is not working so well and also I am running out of space in my computer for editing videos, so I was wondering if you guys had any tips for storing videos or how you do all that?
Male1 First of thing Adam, sweet X-wing footage, judging from your video it still looks like you are not using enough light. Really for a green screen scene, that rhymes, you need a couple of lights dedicated to the screen and a couple of lights dedicated to your actor and I am looking at your footage and it looks like, you can see some green in the corner, your shoulders kind of disappearing, maybe had not turn up the edge thinning or a broad kind or color spectrum that you are keying out is real big in order to background to all key out that is because you are not using enough light.
Think about it this way, when you are shooting your scene, you look through your viewfinder, if you are seeing all different kinds of shades of green behind you, there is shadows caused by your actor or maybe you like the corners are darker. That just means that is not lit well enough. Your computer is going to look from one shade of green and that is it. You need to light it as evenly as possible. Raw video footage takes up times our hard drive spacing. If you can afford to buy more hard drives, you can either burn your capture scratch footage to like DVD’s, you can do CD’s too but does nothing is going to hold that much raw footage or you could delete your captures scratch when you are done with your project and make sure you save the tapes.
The problem being is if you ever want to go back and mess with that project or kind of change it or do anything with that project besides the final X-ford 1, you are going to recapture all that stuff and that can cause a lot of problems later on down the road. I have done this and it has been a nightmare.
Video question “Numero”!
Male3 Indy Mogul, totally awesome, I watch it all the time.
My question is I need tip and it is a really, really Christmas to kill people.
Male1 As far as gruesome deaths go, we have got fake heads up so that is pretty gruesome, we got limp hair, we have a chest rip episode coming up soon. Also if you want an easy gruesome death at times you do not have even to show it. Just set it up with the story and then when you go to it, just cut away like the blood is splattering in some things, someone’s face is freaking out and add a little freaky gross sound effect. A lot of times, people’s imagination will make it more gruesome than you could ever do and it is a lot easier.
Male3 Are there any good solutions for making up late? You know the leftover grubby make-up.
Male1 When I am removing make-up gunk from my face, I usually just get sulfur water works pretty good but you can also get special make-up removers, spirit gum remover will remove things other than spirit gum but really a lot of times you just to stop left over and it is just part of the magic of movie making.
Male4 Where did the name Indy Mogul come from? How do it all began like, you guys caught off an animal or is it named after somebody? That the question I really want to get answered.
Male1 Long ago before Indy Mogul was but a glimmer in the internet’s eye, there was a gathering, a brain storming of names and Indy Mogul came to be, but officially, I believe it was coined by Herb, one of our founders and Aaron, one of the other people that helped in the Mogul blossom. And since you asked, here are a couple names that were on the list that did not make the cut Movie McGyver, Indy Engineer, Gorilla Gaffer. You would like that Banana-Peel. Film O-nomical and Film-O-rifics so you guys, those are some names that Indy Mogul could have been. Comment down below and tell us which one of those alternate names that never were you like best.
