Kevin Gianni: Hey everyone! This is Kevin Gianni with your 50-Second Fitness Quick Fix. Today is a tip for all of you travelers; those of you who are traveling for the holidays, who are in your cars or going out in the airplanes just about doing anything that’s going to cause a strain in your back. I am going to give you three exercises that will loosen up your back in no time.
So, what we are going to do is, first, we will start with the Tai Chi punch, and what we are going to do is -- we are just going to do a little punching exercise. So, you are going to reach your hand forward, point your thumbs down and when you pull your hand back you are going to come to your hip.
Now, I don’t want you to just reach your hands out and punch; I want you to actually twist from your spine. So you are going to twist in your back and I will also show you from the side, just like this, okay. What this is doing; this is loosening up your spine and getting some of that synovial fluid going, that’s the WD-40 for your joints; do this for about 20 seconds. Good.
Now what you are going to do is reach out your hands to your side and then you are just going to lean, keeping your hips straight; you are going to lean to the right, good; and then lean to the other side, good. Right, left, you can kind of bounce while you do this, this is real playful; you are going to feel stretched in your obliques each time you go over it.
The third exercise you are going to do is you are just swaying your hips around. And just really get a nice back bend while you are going back and then bend forward. Good. So, do this when you get out of the car or when you are in the terminal at the airport to really loosen up. Now you might want to go behind a bush or behind bench or something so no one sees your butt, believe me you will get better off doing it than not and then back the other way. And two more times, one, and two. Alright, so that’s this weeks 50-Second Fitness Quick Fix. Have an awesome holiday for those of you in the US and live awesome.
