Quick Tip: Knife Technique

[Music Playing] Hi! I am Chef Keith Snow, Welcome to my kitchen. I am going to give you another quick tip on a knife skill for instance were going to cut this parsley right here. So simply we would take it if were going to make it means parsley for garnish you would just twist it off and now you take your knife. And what is important is you do not want your fingers like this obviously because you could cut them off so what I do is like tuck my fingers back. And what happens is the knife blade and I am going to turn some my, my camera so you could see it the knife blade will hit the side of your finger and I will show you what that looks like in action. Like this , that way there is no way that you could cut your fingers if you are keeping them tucked under and the knife against your fingers. So again it is like that and you could even just tilt that knife a little bit so the bottom edge goes further away from your hands. So how it look likes in real time like that and then when you are trying to make a mince you can even hold top of it and you could rock the knife back and forth and this is how you would make minced up parsley like this keeping your fingers out of the way.
