Quickie Fruit Dip Recipe
bettyskitchen
Hi I’m Betty. Welcome to Betty’s Kitchen. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone out there!
Today I’m going to show you a very quick dip and its dip for fruits and it’s really lovely
and it’s very simple. Now let’s do the ingredients so that can’t be too bad. You have
marshmallow cream. Now this is a small container, its 7 ounces but I don’t have a large
family. It’s just me and my husband. My daughter is coming over today but we would not
use an entire recipe of dip. An entire recipe would be this whole jar 7 ounces of
marshmallow cream and this whole bar of cream cheese which is 8 ounces so I’m just
going to cut it in half for my purposes today but I will right it up with the complete
recipe.
So I had another jar of marshmallow cream and I took out the equivalent of half of this
jar and put it in a bowl. I was very careful to keep the puffiness and I didn’t want to
flatten it out. As far as the cream cheese, I cut that in half and here is the half that I have
and I stuck in the microwave for a few seconds just to get it so that I could work with it.
You need it all blended together because you don’t want to mash up that marshmallow
cream when these 2 are combined so it’s really just a matter of combining these two
together and there’s that nice cheesy taste of the cream cheese and the sweet of the
marshmallow cream that makes it just a wonderful blend that goes great with fruit.
So I’m going to blend these together and I think the fork will probably be better and I’m
just going to fold because as I said there’s a lot of air in the marshmallow cream and I
don’t want to destroy that so just a minimum amount of mixing and it’s not perfectly
blended that’s okay that would be better than mashing it down. So when you get real
white where it’s pretty well blended then let’s say it’s done and well if you see how much
is made so that’s plenty for dipping fruit if you just have a small family but for more
people use the full recipe.
Now I like to use clear serving dishes when I have something colorful like fruit so I put
my dip in this little clear bowl and I’ll get more of that out later but for now just for
demonstration purposes this is our fruit dip. This is really quick marshmallow cream
combined with cream cheese and then our fruit. You can use any fruit you want. I prefer
to use fresh fruit. Canned fruits do not hold up as much as well but if that’s what you
have use that. Use fruits in season, use colorful fruits but again use what you have around
your house if you want make this and have the items that you need for the dip and then
you have maybe few bananas and some apples and some fruit cocktail or whatever you
can use any of those fruits.
So I’m going to just go ahead and serve myself a little bit. This is fresh pineapple. It was
bought already cored and peeled but I had to slice it and chunk it. So take a little bit of
that. This is kiwi fruit and I just need slices there. Nice and colorful is beautiful to go in a
dish like this and we’ll just pick up one of those grapes which will probably do more than
that generally a couple of bananas and oh by the way on the bananas if you’re going to
put it out for display like this your going to need to use something like real lemon, lemon
juice or just using a fresh lemon and go over it like this so it will not turn brown.
It doesn’t hurt to go over the rest of it if you want to but those will have the problem of
turning brown but that’s a little tip that you need to remember and let’s get some
strawberry here either fresh strawberries all of the fruits and need to be prepared
properly. The strawberries need to be washed and then these are so big that I cut them in
half. If yours are smaller make them whole then they really are better for dipping it in
their whole but I use what I have so there you have a really pretty dish and a very quick
dip to go with it so let’s just spoon some of that dip over here. Just put that on your plate
and then I thin I would probably eat this with a fork. Just take a banana something and
dip it in their and let’s see how it is going to taste.
Yummy.
