Quickie Tips - Cleaning Up

If you spill oil, you can simply throw a handful of flower of top of your oil spill. A flower would bond with the oil and it will make a paste, that you can then very quickly use your scrapper to pick up. Let it sip for a few moments to let the flower absorb all the oil.

For someone who hates clean up, the best kind of clean up is a mess that’s never made. So, I’d like to use non-stock spray on cheese graters and in some of my measuring instruments if I’m going to be using something sticky like honey or a soft cheese that wants to stick on the inside of my measuring cups. Kind of a little spray and then pour in your sticky ingredients. It will come out a lot cleaner.

Then finally, for your copperware, whether it’s copper bottoms on your pots or these beautiful copper bowls that we use for our egg whites, this is a very inexpensive and easy way to keep them very shiny. You use tomato paste. You can simply apply a layer of tomato paste, but it sit for a little while, kind of also depending on how thick the grime is on your copper pot. And then either wipe or scrub it off and rinse it clean and your copper pots will stay this shiny for a very long time. You’ll need to do this every week or so though just to keep them nice and clean.
