Ori Hoffer: We are talking with Jay Nolly, one of the goal keepers here for Real Salt Lake; and we are going to be talking about getting the ball out and getting it out deep with a punch. Jay, what are some of the keys to knocking it deep?
Jay Nolly: Making sure the ball is high and long, that's pretty much your key point with that. There are some techniques that you go through to help you get the ball high. Like we want to make sure if we are right handed or if we are right footed, we want to hold the ball with our left hand because when we drop the ball we are going to be dropping on to our right foot and if you are using your right hand you could be dropping it to the outside.
So that will give your best for the height, and then it is just trying to go for the channels. We have our right mid-fielders who are making those runs and we want to try and catch those channels because we don't want to just put it out in the middle where it can just come right back down our throat.
We want to make we get a good trajectory and get it kind of far. I am not going to play it all the way out there. I am just going to try and see if I can get to him, but just kind of like that. Oops! So we want to make sure the ball -- we don't want someone heading the ball in-between the circle and our box because it's coming straight back in.
So that's why we are getting it up and far as out. Now if Rory was going to be more to the side this would be the best for me because then I can find the channels for him outside. So that would be more like that because now I am finding these channels and we keep -- if they get the ball, we keep them pushed down in that end and it's not coming straight down the middle towards us.
