Tony Silbert had taught leader and appreciative inquiry focuses on strings based high engagement approaches to strategy development and implementation.
The following video segment will provide an overview of rapid strategy development, getting an engagement and results quicker. Tony will cover the shifting trends from the 90’s until today, from swank to sore. Why focus on strings as well as offer a sample high engagement process for strategic planning, benefits of strings and engagement planning.
In the past, you have a disruption and then they’re stabilizing forces and then it goes with this pattern. It’s now saying that we’re in this constant disruption phase and that you can't expect to have that stabilization period so not only being able to be adaptive but helping to create shipping structures for your industry or business that more drives versus reacts to these uncontrollable factors.
So the notion of focusing on strings in the number that you’ve mention this, is instead of starting it downwards spirally you actually create the upward spiral from the gecko. So you’re not starting from a neutral, it’s a positive bias that begins with the strengths and opportunities. So we do a lot of times in a summit setting when we get to the how do we move the stuff forward. Its like what are one or the two of the initiatives in this goal areas that would most move this closer to our vision. So we actually do this. We hold this brainstormers. We do some rapid prototyping and people create processes, initiatives or activities that actually help you achieve those things.
With the rapid prototyping, the empowerment and the continuous sort of strategic decision making so it really helps with that and then the notion of nurturing a living strategy that this strategic plan is not meant to be credential where that it has help to guide the actual strategic direction as well as your operational activities. So I love the notion of the strategy on the page.
The nice areas are people that usually are the strongest idealist and have strong hopes or feelings for how this could work. They are usually disappointed by the way things are. So if you find a way to tap into their energy and excitement and draw out their ideas and input and actually do something about it then you’re going somewhere.
