Michael Callahan: Hi this is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome to your butterscotch.com tutorial on reading eBooks on your iPhone or iPod Touch using Stanza. Stanza is a program you can get from the App Store it's also available for the desktop. Here is the main screen you can view titles that you have on your device, authors look through subjects, go to the online catalog. Online catalog has thousands of books both free and for pay. You can browse things like Random House, Harlequin or O'Reilly eBooks here you can find books that you can buy like the Twitter book the Mac OS Leopard: The Missing Manual, click on it buy it download it and you can be reading it in just minutes. The other thing you can do is browse for books on BOOKSONBOARD. Now literally thousands of free public demand books that you can download and read. You can look through alphabetical listing of these free books and when you find one you want say The Art of War by Sun Tzu. Just tap on it, it goes to a screen you can then click download. It ask you to confirm that you want to download the book, tap that the book downloads to your device and then you can just tap up in the right hand corner read now and you are reading you book. Stanza is excellent, has lots of setting you can enable notification and use cover flow, determine thumbnail size or load the last book you are reading and lots more. Lots of configurable options. And tape down the left side of the screen to go back a page right side of the screen to go forward a page lots of actions, you can change the font size, change the book rotation, search for things, go back to your library of books, you can share books with your PC, when you tap in the center of the screen to bring up a menu where you can change the contrast, bring up the settings search go back to your library and lots more.
