The heart of the problem for Cleveland and the USA is the loss of the manufacturing jobs. No intrinsically benevolent or organic 'free'-market policy will ever be able to employ as many people as a fully functional Ford plant. NAFTA, corporatism, and free-market ideology itself are the root causes for the loss of wages, safety standards, and environmental regulations on both sides of the border.
