This weeks tip, we are going to have an introductory a little cut recording electric guitar.

In any type of recording, it is important to consider the single tune. This is everything from your guitar playing, all the way to whatever you are using to record it.

The basics of getting an electric guitar signal into the mixing disc. You can use preamps like this one.

Or you could just rely on the preamp it is built into the mixing disc, it is use to gain control on the mixer and if you are using preamp, you should set this to zero because you might need any extra gain from the mixer. Either way you can get good result. So, it will fade is to zero as well. This is called close marking.
This is a dynamic microphone and most of the microphones will be good for recording a guitar. It is SM57. This is called ambient liking and it may look like close marking that anything that is not right in front of the speaker that seem completely different.

Strum the guitar in a right setting that you know to use to record at any volume would like which is comfortable for you and then, adjust the gain control so an easy on the mixer or in the preamp. It is okay if the red light comes on your preamps. You do not want to be held on. After using the mixer alarm, adjust the gain control to till the red light just start to come on later peak but then, back to preamp,

Do not use the fade,

Just bare in mind that either way with the using preamps or mixer by itself, using a preamp that what I am doing here is just bypassing the preamp and the mixer. So, that is why I put that thing to always zero on the mixer.

Before I start recording, I like to set the equalizer settings back to zero or flat that way. I can adjust them after of mine recording. If something is really bad and you need to fix it.
You can record with equalizer setting, but just remember you cannot undo them once you play the recording.
Then, make a short recording, have it listen to it and see if it is want you because sometimes you cannot tell by listening is through monitors or headphones.
And from there, it should not matter to much if you are recording on your computer or into a photo studio like what I have.
