Cat Deorio: Hi I am chef Cat Deorio and I am outside grilling up some delicious hot dogs. Everyone thinks that grilling is a summer activity, but actually it's so great to do it right into the fall. I am going to start with some Ball Park hot dogs. I use some Cheese Franks going on the frill right now.
Quick tip for grilling, you want to spray it before you lay it. Get your grill nice and hot, take some vegetable spray, and then just spray it right now. What this is going to do is keep all the juices in your dog, because otherwise your dog is going to stick to the grates, when you go to pull it off. It's going to tear it open, juice is going to end up in the grill and so is the flavor.
So let's go ahead and take one of these. Now, if you don't Cheese Franks, you can go to -- Ball Park has so many flavors. We have turkey, we have all beef, we even have light and low sodium. Okay, now what we are going to do is we are going to make the toppings for the dog. What I have here is some red rice, it's really delicious, it kind of has a nutty flavor and it really has a great texture. You are going to put about a half cup in a small bowl, add about two tablespoons of salsa to it. Now, if you like salsa really spicy, feel free to add that to it.
Alright, we are just going to give it a quick stir, make sure it's all fully incorporated. Okay, so I am using a Sara Lee hot dog bun, they also come in delicious whole wheat. Now, we are going to top the dog. We are going to put a nice healthy tapping of our rice mixture on here. If you can't find red rice, you can go ahead and use Spanish rice in a pinch. Then we are going to sprinkle on some white diced onion, as many or as little as you want. Nice gallop of salad cream or two if you are me and a sprinkling of blue corn chips. This is going to add some nice crunch, some nice texture and it to be really delicious. So there you have it, come visit me again at TotalMealsOnline.com for this recipe or others. See you at the grill.
