Sherri Dmyterko: Heart health is top of mind for a lot of Canadians. Recent studies found that 56% of Canadians are extremely concerned about their heart health and 39% are specifically concerned about high blood cholesterol. Certain foods can help reduce cholesterol levels. Another study published in the journal of nutrition found that consuming cereal with cilium fiber everyday as part of a healthy diet can help to reduce cholesterol levels by as much as 10% and in as little as four weeks. Television Celebrity Regis Philbin knows first hand the important link between heart disease and diet.
Regis Philbin: I had an angioplasty back in 1993 and it scared me a lot. And so I keep an eye on my cholesterol and on my exercise and on the things that I eat. As I understand that cilium fiber in the cereal can reduce your cholesterol level by up to 10% within four weeks. I think that's pretty darn good and so that's why I am trying it.

Fran Berkoff: Many people whose cholesterol has been elevated over a period of time end up have angioplasty, because too much blood cholesterol can lead to narrowing of the arteries which can lead to heart disease. However, if you can lower your blood cholesterol by 10%, you can lower your risk of heart disease on an average of 20%. Cilium is one of nature's best sources of soluble fiber. Eating a cereal with cilium fiber has many health benefits, including its cholesterol lowering effects.
Regis Philbin: Since by angioplasty, I have been very concerned of my cholesterol. I called upon to address organizations about it and even worked with the American Heart Association about it. The dangers of cholesterol and heart disease are pretty evident and so I am happy to be here in Canada telling you all about it.
