Hi, okay this is a quick video to show you how the blog tactics ‘Nofollow’ plug-in works.
I did post a little while back on the blog tactics about how Google may penalize your site. If they believe that you are selling text links. Now obviously they can decide that whether you are or not, and one of the reasons they may is if you have not added the Nofollow tag to your blog roll links.
This is the post I did and this is a video showing you how to actually change your WordPress blogs, so that you can quickly and easily add the Nofollow label Nofollow Tag.
But it is a bit of lengthy way of doing it. It is a bit difficult because you have to actually make changes to the WordPress files and cells.
So, what I actually going to do is, if we get back to the top here because the plug-ins page, which is here, there is a new plug-in which I have done, which you can download, upload to your blog and activate. And it will add a little tip box for the Nofollow to your blog row when your adding a link.
Now, let us have a look of what I mean. When we are adding a link to a normal blog with press blog, let us say we have editing this one at the same time, adding as well as editing. Let us click on edit and when it comes up, you notice that under the link relationships XFN option that is not an option for putting the Nofollow tag on links, okay.
If we go to myblogmcgarrett.com and if we actually edit one of the blogroll links here, when it comes up you will notice there is an option for the Nofollow Tag, okay. This has been added by the plug-in so all you need to do is tick that box, and then we will go back the blog itself and have a look at what I mean.
Basically, the Nofollow Tag stops page rank being passed through to the site that you link to which is what Google in the infinite wisdom are worried about because people sell that value.
Okay, if we scroll down I am using Firefox as my browser here and Firefox, when there is a Nofollow Tag on the link, puts it in red, release the way mind setter, it does so we can see all these links, it says “Nofollow, no page rank being passed and Google can not be unhappy with them tool.”
This one here is not in red because this is no Nofollow Tag. Now if I go back and tick this box, the Nofollow you will see it puts in there. If you think that you can just type it in there, if we go back to the other blog where we do not have to plug-in, if I typed in Nofollow, you will notice the WordPress is getting rid of it. I can not actually type in Nofollow, it takes it out.
So without this plug-in it is really difficult to do. With the plug-in, you simply tick the box, click on save changes and once that is updated if I go back and click on refresh and update this view which will take a second or two, when it refreshes it takes a little while to load because I have got another plug-ins installed.
If I scroll down now, you will see that one of the seven resale rights products is now in red, it now has the Nofollow Tag added to it so Google we will be happy with it, okay. So, to get this free plug-in just go to blogtactics.com, click on the plug-ins page and download it from here, okay.
