Mike: Up next, we’ll gonna have a look at the Memphis Blues barbeque house, a restaurant that utilize technology growing to a successful restaurant chain with five locations using a combination of mobile internet and ecommerce technology. They’ve been able to streamline their business model, let’s have a look and see how they’ve done that.
Deborah: My name is Deborah Siu, and I’m one of the owners of Memphis Blues, we are an authentic southern barbecue restaurant and we serve barbecue that’s cooked for between four and fourteen hours, it’s done in a big pit oven and it’s different than grilling. It’s, we cook the way they do down south. We have about 60 employees, and we have five locations. There’s three owners and we’re all very entrepreneurial, we are always kind of looking ahead to the future, we wanna expand our business. We’ve actually been a Telus customer since the very beginning, which was in August in 2001. Telus has help our business because it helps us open quickly and keep our customers happy and because we are able to bundle our services together because we used Telus phone line and fax line and internet. We can put them all together in a bundle and it gives us a cost break and that’s always very important for small business owners. On any given day we never know if there’s gonna be 40 or 400 people coming through the door. A lot of those people pay with credit cards, a debit cards, and we need reliable service so that our customers can pay in a timely fashion, part of that is being able to process their order quickly, being able to process their payment quickly. Our point of sale system is hooked into the internet wherever we are, we can access all the restaurant and help them deal with any issues that they’re having. Because we’re so busy, it’s very important that all our suppliers give us reliability and we found that Telus has always been there when we needed them and that we can process all our orders quickly, make changes quickly. If we have any special events, we can update the website quickly. We definitely wanna keep expanding and Telus will be there to help us with that, we know that we can rely on them to help us meet our goals. Small business really needs reliable business partners and Telus is there if you need them. We’ve used them for several years, and will continue using Telus. We would recommend it to other business owners as well.
