Rebecca Brayton: Restoration and modification are two things for which Rinspeed is known. They also design exotic concept cars. Hi! I am Rebecca Brayton and welcome to watchmojo.com and today we will be learning more about two of these concepts the Senso and the Splash. What is unique about this car that we are seeing right now?
Frank M. Rinderknecht: The Rinspeed Senso is a car which feels the driver, the car is the center. The issue is that a lot of drivers are safer driver and we take up two examples, one is fatigue and a fatigued driver of course is not a safe driver. So the car senses the state of the driver and then influences him by colors, by patterns, by music as well as by smells to get him alert again. On the contrary if you are aggressive of course you are not a safe driver and we cool the driver down again by colors, patterns, smells with the result that the safety while driving should be increased.
Rebecca Brayton: And does it sense a driver's mood?
Frank M. Rinderknecht: It senses for one biometrically, and for two by driving behavior which is caught up by a camera.
Rebecca Brayton: I noticed it takes the driver's pulse even.
Frank M. Rinderknecht: Yes, it takes the driver's pulse and blood pressure and if you are getting tired of course, your pulse rate will slow down and if you are accurate, it goes up.
Rebecca Brayton: Now, is this considered a concept car or will we see this on the road?
Frank M. Rinderknecht: No, the Senso is a clean concept car, you will never see the road, it is just to show new business ideas and technologies.
Rebecca Brayton: Now this is the Splash, do you want to just tell us a bit about what it does.
Frank M. Rinderknecht: It is the only car which flies above the water. It works on a system with hydro foils which means it is being lifted above the surface about 50 centimeter and it glides on the water surface with a speed of about 50 kilometers.
Rebecca Brayton: So who would you say this car caters to?
Frank M. Rinderknecht: Well it would cater to people with big boats as a toy, but again here it is a prototype, it is not being sold.
Rebecca Brayton: Well, thank you very much.
Frank M. Rinderknecht: You are welcome.
