Phil: My name is Phil, I am from Bath, Michigan. My friend needs a kidney transplant and what are the risks if I donated a kidney? Brent Miller: Phil, that's a good question, the risk of donating a kidney, the risk of surgery. So, anesthesia, surgical infection risks and so forth, because potential donors are screened so carefully in the last 30 years of doing kidney transplants. We haven't had the problem with people developing long-term complications.
