Sam: Hey! How are you doing AJ?
AJ: I'm great, thanks.
Sam: Good and guess what?
AJ: What?
Sam: It’s my favorite time of the week.
AJ: What time would that be?
Sam: It’s Tech-Fo time. Ladies and gentlemen grab a drink.
AJ: Sit back.
Sam: And enjoy.
AJ: And enjoy. Hello!
Sam: And.
AJ: Welcome.
Sam: To.
AJ: Tech-Fo.
Sam: Every week my co-host.
AJ: Hello.
Sam: And I would be giving you weekly updates from the Tech-Fo including upcoming games and new gadgets ask anything else with simply tech.
All right, hello and welcome to Episode two of Tech-Fo and this is going to be pretty quick because we got a lot of stories in 10 minutes so hopefully we’ll make it in the 10-minute mark. But first we’re going to open with some news from Roccat our very favorite company. Okay now, recently if you will check on the Roccat website at Roccat.org they have released a new line of products and this idea is called Roccat SDMS standing for smart desktop management system.
Okay, what this is, it’s the idea of space, order and efficiency and performance all put together into four products, four gaming products that really help enhance, not on your performance but also to get the best space out of your computer desks. So there’s going to be four products in the lineup. Okay so the first one is released two days ago which was a USB hub and a mouse-keyboard management. Second one is a mouse map, third is a keyboard and fourth is a mouse, I don’t know about the order but they got to raise them one at a time.
So about a few days ago, they released the first one which is called the Roccat Apuri and now they are very kindly Michael from Roccat, PR department is shipping you at end of the week so we’ll have one to review very soon, it should be great fun. And yes so the other of it is it looks as well so instead of using come different components from other companies, as of the moment, a keyboard from Zed ideas on the Zed board and a mouse from I don’t know, Razor, Roccat something like that. And you have the line of Roccat products and it all matched and they worked perfectly together.
And I think it’s a great plan to have a match on the said products. What do you think of this AJ?
AJ: I think it’s a great idea but I mean it looks perfect and works late, I mean that’s the evolutionary idea but one thing that has come to my mind that I had a doubt about is the cord of the mouse. If you look at the pictures on the website, yeah I'm sorry. Some of the cords of the mouse it looks like it could be awkward at times. It looks like it may not slide in and out in an efficient manner that it should be but you know, this and now you have a question I'm sure will be answered when it’s done by gaming—
Sam: Indeed we’ll be rigorously reviewing it next week sometime because that’s good but, I like the look of that, excellent. Next, okay we’re going Apple rumor, AJ do you want to cover this one?
No because—. Okay, I'll do it. Apple rumor, okay there is rumored to be an Apple Tablet coming soon in development, okay it’s an Apple Tablet in case you don’t know what a tablet, it is the idea of—I mean there's two sorts of tables. Laptops or the swivel screens, let’s say if you take my netbook and then I'll be able to swivel the screen around and fold it back on itself and I'll be able to hold it like this and it’s easier touch screen so I’ll be able to touch screen like that, that’s a tablet. And with the Apple one, they developed the pictures, sort of rumor pictures of what it looks, just the screen that you hold it, it will be fully touch screen.
And this is a new rumor so Apple said nothing about this one but also there is another rumor that came up a few years later after this saying that Apple have put an order with a company or some agreement saying that they’ll produce all the processors in house with their own processors, it’s kind of a scout up version of what they’ll be using in the iPhone. It’s—what’s it called? Okay I don’t have a name with it but it’s—people have predicted it’s going to be around $800.00 so it’s going to be obviously pretty intense of an Apple product. Probably there are still questions out, what kind of RS is going to run them?
AJ: Arm chips.
Sam: Arm chips cool, thank you. There we go yeah. That’s the name of the processor’s chips. But yeah, so what kind of operating system is this going to be? Like an iTouch or a scaled down version of OSX? Who knows? Right away I'm seeing that one. All right AJ you’ve got the next one.
AJ: Yes, I'm no longer eating crisps. Acer is now coming up with an android netbook which is coming up next month. A lot of people are complaining at the moment about it because it is supposed to be—system with Google with Windows XP. So really I'm not quite sure why everyone is complaining about it, I mean it’s Google making this as a startup for an OS and you know, everyone has a Google. But really everyone complains about this and not everyone is—about XP.
So it makes no sense to me XP is still the reigning operating systems in personal and laptop computers, so be happy if Google plus XP is like an ice cream sundae, not a lot to resist such temptation.
Sam: Sometimes they yeah, I mean I can see why they do it, because android, people want android because it’s slick and it’s quick. But let me get it, it has not much functionality at all compared to XP. So if you just have an android netbook, it might be that it would be a waste for a netbook because the features you can do you coulnt install any programs, you can't run the number of stuff that XP could do over android. Now admittedly yes, it’s faster, android is faster than XP but you know I think it’s a waste—android is designed for phones, not netbook so having the jaw boo, having the best of both worlds, I think it’s a good plan. I think it will be.
Next, I got to read this I love this. I love this, this is how the text blogs did it. This is from Gizmodo. Sony has launched another highly idiotic and indecipherably named product. The Memory Stick Pro HD Duo HX now what the hell does that mean to anyone? It’s a 32-gigabyte, again that’s the best at the store the name of it. But it’s a new memory stick kind of cards and memory that Sony products use. It’s 32 gig it offers 15 megabytes per second rate speeds and 200 megabyte per second receive which is fast but why call that a Memory Stick Pro HD Duo HX, this is ridiculous.
AJ: I mean, well don’t forget this is Sony, they’ll never get their act again. They're too busy thinking about—rather than using an actual—the name of the product.
Sam: Sony—what was it again? Okay, you’ve got it AJ?
AJ: Windows 7, build 7600, Well, this is a mere fine right version of Windows 7 which is supposed to have it—Interesting news about it is it’s rumored to be an RGM which is released manufacture. Everything is from manufacturing version and that would essentially be a copy of Windows 7 that—the exact manufacturers to preload on computers and it is a pre-startup for the—consumer launch.
And I hope it go out when Windows 7 is launched, it will go out. I would hate for Microsoft to accidentally put on another Vista, I mean a lot of people, they do not like Vista, Microsoft said Vista will be awesome and of course it didn’t turn out to be that way. But all the tech blogs and stuff you're saying that Windows 7—it has started so I hope it does become a success that can—little kids. There are stories about this Windows 7 and all this stuff.
Sam: Indeed yeah.
