Hey! David Caris here for guitarbanddvd.org. Thank you very much for tuning in today. I’m going to show you some rockabilly step today. I love roots music and rockabilly music and I want to show you a couple of very basic riffs that you can do. It will spice up your repertoire and I think you’ll really like it. I’m going to combine them into one trick but they’re basically two riffs and you put them together.
So the first part of this trick is putting your finger which is actually your second finger over here at the seventh fret on the B string. And your third finger on the eighth fret on the E string. This is by the way, we’re going to be doing in the key of A and when you have that sound, you can bend it, that’s it.
[Demonstration]
You can do it up here on the upper octave. It’s very cool to do like a colon answer. Anyway, the next part is this.
[Demonstration]
So all I’m doing is I’m up here and basically in a very similar position and I’m taking my third finger over here on the eighth fret and I’m just doing a slur down to eighth, seventh, and fifth. And then I’m doing the same thing that was on the E string. Now, I’m doing on the B string.
[Demonstration]
You don’t always have to bend it and you can also go.
[Demonstration]
You can play all kinds of things there.
[Demonstration]
So, how that might that sounds with some music, well, let’s check it out.

Next, we’re checking out this lesson. You keep this in mind, guitar makes everything better. A few years ago my wife got cancer. I got to be honest with you. I don’t know how I’ve gotten through without being able to play guitar and when I think of the best times, guitar made everything better so when things are bad, guitar helps. When things are great it only accentuates how great everything is so keep playing guitar as what I’m trying to tell you. By the way, my wife’s a lot better now.
At any rate, thanks for tuning in and please go to guitarbanddvd.org website and get yourself the blues boot camp that I put together. The ten minute blues boot camp. Please check it out and let me know how you like it.
So far I’ve had some really great feedback from it and I really appreciate you’re checking out my channel. Thank you. This is David Caris for guitarbanddvd.org. and with another two minute guitar trick. Alright, thanks.
