Hi I’m Mark Donovan from HomeAdditionPlus.com. And today, I’m using a new Rockwell’s Random Orbital Sander that has vibration free technology, reactive vibration cancel technology in it. And as a result in that technology, it reduces vibration in the unit by up to 50%. And I don’t know about you, but when I use traditional mobile standards in the past, after using for extended period of time, you feel the tingling sensation on your hand, even now or two or even longer after using this. With this unit, I didn’t feel that, very, very minimal vibration as a result, no tingling in the hands after and second of all, I found it to be much quieter unit and third, it seems to do an incredibly good job of sanding the material.
This particular orbital sander has a five-inch diameter head and includes a 2.7 motor that delivers 12,000 orbits per minute. It also has a weight inch orbital action. As a result, it does an incredible job of removing material very fast and effectively. I also like the rubberize handle on the shed, the fact that it is easy to grip and also the one of rocker switch is right in front with finger control and it’s also seal which will protect the life of the switch and the unit itself.
One main concern with wood workers is dust control and dust management. In this particular unit, it did an extremely finishing job of collecting the dust and minimizes any dust traveling throughout the workshop. It has psychotic dust separating in here that I’ve been using. But in addition, there is a dust extractor adapter unit that can bolt on the unit and then connect to that and clean up to the back side of the sander, so either one of these does a terrific job of collecting the dust and mitigating any type of dust in the workshop.
When using any type of sanders, it’s always important to wear eye protection and a mask even though it does incredibly good job of maintaining the dust, it’s again always wise to wear both these types of protection when using orbital sanders.
And as you can here, with just couple of minutes of sanding, I’m able to remove most of the stain from this piece of wood would barely any pressure you applied to the orbital sanders itself.
So if you’re looking for new random mobilize orbital sander, I consider looking at this Rockwell unit. This is the arcade 42, 45K unit. Again, this vibration free technology built in to it is incredible in terms of the reception and vibration in the unit and the dust collector mechanism on it does a fantastic job of maintaining dust control.
