Hi! Today's episode is about roller blading. I am a beginner but I can so tell you some basic things about roller blading that I have learned. So first of all you have to make sure that your roller blades are really tied on your legs and now how you get up. So this is what I do. I am trying to put the roller blades like this behind me. And then just one leg on the ground. Other one too and stand up, so now I have my balance and then I can switch the weight of my body from one leg to another like this and once you get comfortable, you can go faster.
Now I am going to give you a little tip how you can effectively work your glutes when you are rolling blading. So the position, just like this you bent your knees, a little bit more and then your body goes automatically a little bit forward. So you are in this position and then you are just riding and you can feel immediately how it works your glutes, your hamstrings and the back of your leg and more advanced position is like this, is really bend forward with your hands on the back. I have seen that many times but I personally can't do it, for me it's too much advance, so I am just like this, just a little bent, my hands are ready for the fall.
Now I am going to show you how to turn. So remember it's on your shoulders. You have to turn your shoulders towards this side to where you want to turn. So I am going to give you an example. I want to turn that way so when I go, I am turning my shoulders that way which makes my legs turning that direction as well. I am going to show you faster. See that's a very basic technique for training.
Now I am going to show you the most important thing almost as how to stop. So how do you stop your roller blade? This is very basic technique as well. So when you are gliding, you stay on your one leg and then the other leg, you drag behinds you, just like this. So dragging the other leg behind you which makes you stop, put break.
You generate your speed and then drag one leg behind, that was better. Roller blading is one of the most fun exercise that you can do. It gets you outside and you can have fun either in group or by yourself. So that's it for now and I will see you next time on BodyRock TV.
