Romantic Picnic Food Ideas
Eating a picnic under the blue sky with a loved one can be a very romantic experience but you need the right food. Hi, I’m Rebecca Brayton and welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’ll be showing you three picnic recipes for your romantic picnic.
For our first recipe we’ll be making prosciutto and melon balls. To use the cantaloupe here are the ingredients we’ll need a quarter cup of lime juice about 36 sprigs of fresh mint, nine ounces of thinly size prosciutto and one cantaloupe.
Our first step is to prepare the melon, so what we’ll have to do is slice it in half and then use our melon ball to remove the flesh. Place your melon balls in a ball, sprinkle with lime juice and then stir gently to coat. Wrap each ball with the slice of prosciutto and then secure with the sprig of mint.
For luscious strawberry blossom here’s what you’ll need Three ounces of soft and cream cheese, we’re using strawberry flavor, 12 large fresh strawberries, one Tablespoon of sour cream, two tablespoons of confectioners sugar and some fresh mint used.
First we need to remove the stems from our strawberry to form a flat base. Slice the strawberries in half to within a quarter inch of the base and then slice again in half to form a blossom. Combine the cream cheese, sour cream and icing sugar in a small ball and beat into light and fluffy.
For the piping bag or a small spoon fill the strawberries with the cream cheese mixture. And so for our last recipe we’ll be making pear and brie hand the pies. For that you’ll need one large ripe pear, prepared puff pastry, brie cheese and four teaspoons of raspberry preserves. Lightly butter a baking sheet and preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Next we work with the puff pastry. I’m using store bag but you could make your own. So roll it and until it’s about a quarter of an inch stick. Cut your dough into eight squares and then place half a teaspoon of raspberry preserve on one corner of each of the squares leaving enough space to fold the rest over.
Place a slice of brie so it covers the raspberry preserves. Don’t be afraid to cut thick slices. Prepare the pear, peel it cord and slice it and then place the thin slices on top of the brie. Now fold the empty half over the form and turn over and glue the edges with some egg. Glaze the tops of the turnovers with the left over egg and poach some air vents into the tops as well.
Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees and then reduce the heat to 375 and bake for the dish for 20 minutes with 10 minutes left to ensure even browning rotate the pan. To keep your hands warm make sure to keep them in an insolated dish and when you’re going out on your picnic make sure to bring a bag, some cheese, potato and of course wine to complete this perfect meal.
