Run Multiple Viewers Simultaneously on your Mac
Hi! I recently got a Mac Pro and that it would be a superb time for me to show you how to open multiple instances of Second Life on your Mac. I previously did a Windows version, so let’s get hopping on the Mac side of things.
In the applications folder, find Second Life and right click and show package contents. So now, we get the contents. So, if you’ve never been in here before, don’t worry. I'm going to hold your hand. And double click game and go to resources and double click on that and aguments.txt. If you double click this, it will open in your chosen text editor. So right here, it’s text edit. And right underneath, put a dash like that or a minus sign. It depends on how it’s used, right. But the point is to type in the word multiple. Go ahead in the File menu and save that and close that out. And if you’re familiar with the PC way of doing things, you’ll say, “That’s the equivalent. Okay.”
And I should mention this is one of the several ways of doing it. You can also launch it from the terminal. But for many, this might be the most easy so you just go back here. And now what you want to do is go into the MAC OS folder. And to launch multiple instances let me just drag this down near to the docs so you can see I have Second Life. It magnifies. That’s so funny. And we can double click this start, Second Life. So, it begins Second Life like that. You see the terminal window comes out. You don’t have to worry about that because that just goes and behind.
So, we have one instance open. Let’s go back to the finder and Second Life again. And as you can see now, another window and let me just drag, some glitch in. Drag that closer so—we have two copies of Second Life open.
