Hi! This is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome back to our special butterscotch.com 10 part series on Safari.
In this segment part two of bookmarks, we’re going to look at being able to synchronize your bookmarks via MobileMe. MobileMe is available on the Mac and there's also a control panel add on for windows. I’ll put the link for that in the show notes, so you can download it onto your PC. A personal note is that I found out when I try to install the MobileMe Control Panel, it keep giving me an error saying that required iTune to which was I already installed on this machine.
I found that it only installed once I logged in to my MobileMe account in Safari. So, something to keep in mind if you try to download it and install it and you get an iTunes error, log into your MobileMe account and download the control panel add on from there. So from here, when you download this and install it you get to here, you can put in your member name, you can sign in. Now, if you go to control panel and open control panel, you'll see that you have a MobileMe option now in control panel. You can use that over, so as your account information, your account details and click on the sync tab, sync with MobileMe, you can pick what you want to sync. For our tutorial, we’re going to just check bookmarks. Under the advance tab, there are some other things you can pick. So, in the system—say okay.
And now, what will happen is that MobileMe will automatically sync all of my bookmarks in Safari to the MobileMe account so that my copy of Safari on the Mac will also have the same bookmarks. So in this way, you can move bookmarks back and forth. Sync them between multiple computers both windows and Mac and keep your bookmarks in Safari up to date. Keep in mind this is the multiple part series and be sure you watched all 10 parts.
