Mike Agerbo: You know, the one great thing about doing this show is well, get to check out the latest TV’s and a big TV—I wanted to have a look today at the Samsung series. This is their 71 series. It comes in a number of different sizes 40, 46, 52 inches. This is an LCD screen and this is kind of cool because it actually kind of looks like a plasma when you’re watching it. That’s been one of my complaints with the LCD TVs is that it just don’t seem to capture that same movement and just the overall kind of warrant of image rate that a plasma can.
Lindsay Smith: Yeah, one of the reasons why we’re looking at that today is the Samsung LCD that we have behind this here runs a program called WiseLink which actually can display your photos on it using a USB key. And what’s really neat about that is when you’re taking it into an office environment, you can really spice up your lobby or your board room or any type of presentation environment by displaying a variety of photos on it.
Mike Agerbo: They want you to take it into the whole business setting.
Lindsay Smith: Yes!
Mike Agerbo: From a home setting, it’s pretty cool. It’s a 1080p so you can watch all the latest movies in blu-ray or HD DVD and it’s got three HDMI connections on the back as well as VGA and all the other components in the S-Video. But I mean, you brought up a great point and this is kind of a cool thing with the new TVs coming out. Not only can you hook all the stuff and that I’d spoke about but a lot of them have the USB connection on the back.
Lindsay Smith: Yeah, so this means that you can actually plug in the USB right into the side of it and play any photos that you basically have on your USB.
Mike Agerbo: So, you got the menu screen up here. As you can see, we can go to the photo or the music and you can actually play MP3s in the background while the photos are going. And just like you're browsing through your computer folders here same thing. It’s all in the USB key right now I’m going to into the Vancouver folder here and find something. And look at this, we’ve got all the little thumbnails up here and I can select all the ones that I want to go into the slideshow or I can do view them all on the slideshow as well.
Lindsay Smith: And so a great thing again, bringing it back to the business environments is you can put your logos on there, you could put corporate presentations and slideshows on there. Any sort of key messaging that you want to get across to your clients or perspective clients those are coming in or even your staff. We could put vision statements and things on there which is huge and a lot of corporate culture.
Mike Agerbo: And so you know if you are using it in that type of environment or business environment, you know, you want to make sure that you do have the right specs on the TV as well. Like I said this is 1080p. This particular one from Samsung also has a really high contrast ratio, 25,000 to 1. And what that means is you’re going to get really nice blacks and you know depth of field here as well so—
Lindsay Smith: So, if you’re looking for an all around great HDTV and something that you can use in a board room setting or in the lobby of your business, then you definitely want—
Mike Agerbo: Or at home.
Lindsay Smith: Or at home, right! Of course, or at home, it’s not all about business.
Mike Agerbo: Yes!
Lindsay Smith: You can definitely check out this Samsung.
Mike Agerbo: If you like that product, be sure to also check out this.
