Samsung Giorgio Armani - Review
This is the Phone Arena’s video review of the Samsung Giorgio Armani phone which is a very stylish device and is advertised as a rival of the LG product.
As you can see it definitely looks well. It’s a very small candy bar with 2.6-inch big touch screen on the front and only two real physical buttons which are the SEND and END keys.
There isn’t much on the sides, in the left one are the microSD slot and the volume rocker while on the right are the camera and locking keys as well as the connector for the charger.
The Armani looks and feels very well in the hand, thanks to the brass aluminum back and unique color. It is mainly operated by its 2.6-inches touch screen which reacts to a finger but not to an artificial object like a pen for example. Preloaded the phone comes with a dozen of very well looking wallpapers which slow the quality of the display but keep in mind, that they are maybe a visibility problem in bright environment.
The phone uses optimized variant of the quad interface we’ve seen in the F700. It changes the color scheme to one that matches the overall look as in G600 you can set random wallpaper and every time you see the home screen there would be a different background image.
Here is the calendar, but it can be change to a big clock. On the top is the service information as well as pre-shortcuts to muting, menu and dialing pad. The latter visualizes the numeric keypad on which you press to dial.
The main menu is a 3 x 4 grid of icons and when you move around the banner at the top will show the matching labels. Once you select something and wait for the animation then the sub-menu is hoping to have a vertical list. If you want to scroll just grab dim as you move it.
The phonebook isn’t anything spectacular and a contact can have just a set number of fields. The same goes for the organizer which is very similar in functionality to some mid-level Samsung phones.
If you are into multi-media then the music player will be one of your favorite apps. It is similar to the U700 one and can search the music by artist, album, and etcetera. We’re not really fans of the now playing interface which visualizes across indicating the progression and the volume.
The space doesn’t use rationally and the options are in small menus in the bottom and the top. The player can be minimized to work at background level and in the home screen we can see it with album cover.
Many will be interested in the three-megapixel camera and the landscape interface they are indicators for the setting on the left and various option on the right, but the most importance is the performance.
Unfortunately, it isn’t anything great. The images are with average quality and we are disappointed that it’s also very slow. As a whole, we are pretty pleased with the Armani phone although is not very functional it still offers more than most of it’s users would require, and delivers a very good sound quality which is very important.
So, if you are looking for a high and fashionable device like the look of Armani, you should check this phone out. Visit PhoneArena.com for the full in-depth review of Samsung Giorgio Armani.
