SanDisk 4Gb USB Drive Review. "cruzer micro"
A brief review of the Sandisk USB memory stick, some people call them fun drives, some people call them pen drives, I just call it USB drive. Like a hard drive, but solid stick that you can probe in to your computer USB port. Well this is suitable for a USB 2, I believe it would work on USB 1. It’s a 4 gig memory stick, so it’s got 4 gig of memory on board, actually the amount reusable memory is little bit less than 4 gig mentioned, because of technology problem, such like. It take, it comes with a cap on, as you can see. Cap is quite a snug fit, quite a tight fit, and this cap, I think, if you’re not careful, could be lost. Here’s the end, there’s the USB. Well, it does have an item here that you can fasten to a key ring. I find this quite small, this hole in here to fasten to a key ring, it’s a bit tight when I put it actually on a key ring. I think that could wear down on some degree, scruff up some time, I don’t know, this is an outer sleeve here which is similar material to this semi translucent cap that you can slide off and on. I’ll just show you that, I just pause the video a little bit, well it’s like. That’s the off and, when you do slide it off, you have a bit of tape on the back which you can bite and gnaw it on. I’ll just show you this actually where can this go, I just mention the size. It’s hard to show you that ruler that to see, I would say about 60 millimeters long and tall, all as rightfully into the side. Width I would guess is about, well a bit less than 20 millimeters. And the thickness, quite thin, I guess about 8 millimeters I say at the most. So it’s quite small, easy fit on a key ring and obviously it easily fit your pocket, generally speaking. I’ll just pause the video a bit and I move this over to the computer and put it in use. Now obviously you need, well it would preferred or your USB port in the front of your computer to use this, now your USB, couple of USB ports. And as you see, when I probe it in, this light suddenly starts flashing, a little just like when it flashes on, it’s nice and subtle sort of orange in it. Seems to feel then on, feel it out a bit. And ahead it ping pong, and it recognizes, sorry if this flickers a bit, but it recognize it straight away on my machine and it sort of got a window like, Windows explorer sure in the files I have on this USB port at the moment. I find it quite quick at copying files and you just, once it’s plug in like this, you can use Windows explorer to copy and paste files over your, over to where you want to access files just like any normal disk drive. And obviously once you’ve finished, you just unplug it, and remember to put the cap back on. Don’t want to lose the cap, if possible, obviously it would work without the cap, but I imagine you could get a bit dirt that you might have to clean up more often if you lose a cap. But, I’m very happy with that, very please with that, seems reliable, no problems. The only problem I did get, well, I wouldn’t call I problem, it’s my fault, when I first plug it in, it was coming with a message in Windows about, it could access on there what are called high speed USB, and I didn’t have high speed USB set up, but that was just a set up on the device on my computer. I believe you can use this on Windows Vista as a sort of temporary cache sort of storage, it’s a bit faster, believe doing that and using that sort of hard drive as a storage, like a bit extra in memory, bit extra RAM, RAM drive in a way which is also called this. Always remember that although, when you plug that, just remember those files, doesn’t forgotten those files just you just unplug it. Let’s plug in to show you, here we are lighten up, and again it’s pop up with those same files that I have stored in it. So remember, it doesn’t start off, it’s not really a volatile memory, remembers the files that you stored on it. Actually, I would recommend that you fasten it to a key ring or something. Anyway, that is on my key ring, so I can compare it with all those keys. I would recommend that you go out and buy one if you haven’t already got one, I mean more computers, especially nowadays, they got USB. Actually I think computers are, well, actually change over to ISATA, eventually, coz that’s even faster, but USB is here to stay for a long time yeah. And I would certainly say, go for occasionally and don’t… I think.
