Chris: Now we are going to get into some ground ball drills that I think personally, can help create for girls of this age, but we use these for high school kids and that really teaches them to get low and is a great part of ground ball. So Diane I want you to explain what we are going to do first.
Diane: Okay, you have as many balls as players lined up near you, and what you are going to do is make a bridge. I usually use my stick to give something else outside and basically the player has to come and scoop the ball and get under the bridge without hitting your arm. It teaches them to get low. If they are too high, they are going to hit your arm and then you can have a little penalty or just say ups too high.
So we really want the girls to get their butts down and get low when they are scooping, so as each player comes through those scoop and then you put a new ball out. So we are going to demonstrate that.
You guys are ready? Alright. Laura you start. Go ahead, get down and scoop real low and scoop through. Good job! Keep going. Great! Sorana you are next. Scoop way down. Good! But you get that butt down a little lower, Sorana. Go, Kally, get that butt to the ground. That's great. Good job! Good, and they are even replacing their balls for me. That's good. Go ahead, Laura, butt down, yes. Good job!
It's okay. Alright Sorana, get that bud really low.
