Scramble iPhone App Review

Hello everyone! You’re watching the iPhone App Show. I am Lane Fournerat a.k.a. LaneVids. Today, we’re going to look at an application. The application that we are going to take a look at today is the little game that I found last night and from reading this description, it looks like if used to be a paid game and now it’s free. It’s called Scramble. Okay, so it’s Scramble. First that you open this up, it’s going to ask you if you want to create a profile. I have not created a profile yet. We’re going to that. So the first, we’re going to just click maybe later so I can show you the basics of the game. I'm going to hit play solo and the object of the game is to create words out of the scrambled letters you see on the screen by connecting together adjacent letters and you tap or drag to form the words. So, let’s say play now. And it gives you a board and you just simply let’s say, A-T-E ATE, TRAIN. Your time at the top right get us high of a score as you can. My score right now is nine and on the bottom left, there is the best score that you had out of all the games that you have played. On the bottom right, you can click this here. It’s kind of like a low host menu but it doesn’t pause your timer. You can resume in this turn or go to the main menus. It’s kind of like an options panel, so you can do two letter words by the way. Alright, so my timer now calculates my points, I have 18 points. It tells you what the hardest words are. The words that are in this puzzle and you can simply scroll through them to see which ones you forgot. There’s a bunch of them and then it shows you the pattern that it would have taken to get this one. You can see the artist there or you can click the next one. It will change the pattern there. As you scroll down this list here, and this time we go towards the bottom, so there is train. It’s going to be in green. It’s going to be bolded. Now, I thought you know that you found it, so you can play again. It’s going to take you back to the same place. Here’s with the new border. I'm going to go ahead and click menu. Another thing you can do is called Play and Pass. We’ll play with two players and the way this works is we start with player one. At the bottom there, you can see which player is on. So now, we’re going to pass the player two and then hit play now. My iPhone messed up on me, so it’s not the same words. I have to replay another game, but you pass it to player two and they’re going to go through and see what they can find. Alright, so it’s going to calculate the points. And at the bottom, you can hit see results and it will let you know who won. Player one wins with 21 points, player two at 18 points and then you can play again if you want or you’re going to go ahead and go into the menu and we’re going hit play online, check out the life mode. It already asked me to put in the name, so I just put in your name and press Enter and now you’ll be able to compete with hundreds of other players. Yeah, I’m one of 116 of 116 right now. This game is just about to end and I put you in the middle. Now, it’s count down at the top. The next round is going to be in 20 seconds two alright and go. As you can see I’m 45th of 88 now. Alright, I got the score of 29. The hardest word was blithe. I came in 21st of 102 though, that’s not bad at all. So, the next rounds are going to begin in 20 seconds if you want to play again. If not, you can hit your menu button. If you click on your name on the bottom there, they’ll show up your profile. My word IQ is 120. My longest word is GRIPER, 34 points is my personal best, words found a 106 and rounds played 13 and I’ve been playing since April 2nd. You can hit Edit here and you can fill in your phone number if you want too and you can edit your photo. I’m going to go ahead and take a picture. I’ll take it from my camera. And now I let it be the iPhone App Show that I do as took there. I will use that photo and hit Save. If you want to put in your mobile number, what it does is it connects with your friends. Sorry I guess because it’s uploading to the server and cut my picture away. I'm going to get us up back running in just a second. So once your photo is uploaded, it will take you back here and you can reset all of your stats if you want too. I don’t want to do that right now. So, I’m going to go ahead and click Cancel and it brings me back to my stat page and I can hit back again. And if you want to, you can invite other friends from your phone. You have three other spots on the bottom there. The only other thing in this game is the options at the top. You can change your board size to be 5.5 or 4.4. Your board time, you can up your timer to three minutes instead of two minutes. You can show the solo intro. You can turn your sound on and off and you can use your accelerometer, that way whenever you turn it to side, it will just turn your letters and you still have the same board there. There are more games at SEGA and you can hit the About button and just a little bit of how to play it and what not. Nothing too exciting there, so you can click Done and that is Scramble Light. Like I said I believe it is now a free app. It used to be a paid app, definitely check it out. It is fun, very addictive. I highly recommend it especially if you like word games, but that is our episode of the iPhone App Show today.
