Screenwriting Software
Hi this is Mike the film lab on the substream.com and that we’ve cover in another video what a screenplay actually is and why it’s important that it looks the way that it does. We are going to talk about how to make them the tools.
Okay, so you grab in your heart and your brain in wit and your creative and your pound less energy but I’m talking about the computer and the software, the step that you actually need to make them.
Screenplay formatting is super specialized which of another way of saying that it’s super irritating we try and recreate and a basic text and program. You can spend the lifetime flexing around with pre sets and margins and templates in a program with Microsoft Word but like I said that’s really annoying it’s much easier to use some of the pre ignitions specialized screen writing software.
The two that we’ve been battling that forever our movie magic screen writer and what’s arguably the industry standard final that. Of course that’s maybe arguable according to final path web page where it says that final path is the extreme standard. They both offer a host with powerful features that if you work on your scripts index cards, outlying views, script notes all that fancy stuff.
They do however cause money. Caltex got all of the features the paid programs and maybe some extra one as well and it’s also got a huge community and fans that work to help improve the software and each other scripts, we’re big fans. Of course all the dudes and the dudets that will, all of these Oscar nominates screenplay did so on, in this pre standard software lie final death or movie magic screen writer.
So if you’re going to be a big shot like them you’re going to know how to use this program. The industry when people working on the industry don’t really have to worry about spending a couple of hundred box on software because they are earning hundreds and thousand dollars a year.
However, don’t be surprise if Caltex makes in roads into that industry if its TV or Movie because ultimately you can’t really argue with the idea of free especially if the program works which Caltex does.
