Search engine optimization is a continuous process that keeps you busy with changing and updating keywords in your content.
1. Title of the page:
• Keep one different keyword phrase on each page of your website. Do a little search on wortracker.com web site and get your keywords.
• Don’t fight for general keywords that has lot of competition. Try to make that keyword as a phrase. This way your webpage survives in competition.
2. First paragraph of the content:
• Make it in ‘h1’ header tags. Use a keyword phrase. I either keep same phrase that I put in the title or little variant of the same phrase.
• This way, you can introduce two variants of one key word phrase. Singular and plural in keywords are taken as some by search engines.
3. Content of the web page:
• You cannot keep long titles as search engines only displays first 60-65 characters. But you can keep as much content as you like on your web page. (But before you optimize the page for search en gin e, option size it for your web site visitor) If you have along sales page, divide it in to two or three parts and keep keyword phrases into the content.
4. Link to other pages:
• Like in the menubar or from the content to other pages. Stop using click here, more info links. Instead use a keyword. Example: ‘Search engine optimization tip’ instead of ‘More info’.
5. Keyword metatags:
• Still many search engines use these tags though the value of these metatags are going down everyday. People tend to keep 50 or more keywords here.
• But surely I don’t see any use of it. Just make sure keep keywords or phrases in there for some search engines that still value these metatags.
Tip before ending the article:
• Don’t overdo keyword optimization. Don’t keep many keywords on one page. Try to keep content on your site targeting one or two key words on each page.
