Thomas: Thomas Glen Valentine, Dayton, Ohio. I love my fiancé very much and I’ll do anything for her but sometimes I feel a little selfish and I develop a sense of entitlement towards her. Why does this happen and what can I do to develop a caring, nurturing relationship with her?

Jennifer Hartstein: So Thomas I think that in any relationship, there’s a lot of together time and the aim in relationships is also to appreciate your alone time and often times that gets lost when you are wrapped up in all of the life things and couples things that you end up doing. One reason you may end up feeling entitled and selfish is because you recent the fact that you do not have any alone time. So you may want to consider building that into your relationship; times for you to hang out with your friends or just go do something on your own and then you have opportunities to bring those experiences back to your relationship with your fiancé and talk about them and share them with her.
