One complaint some users have about Twitter is that you have to visit the Twitter web site to use the service. Well, it doesn't have to be that way if you just look around at the programs available for using Twitter from your desktop. Seesmic Desktop is a great solution for using Twitter from your Mac or your PC. It lets you do @ replies, send TwitPics and much more.

Hi, this is Mike Callahan Dr. File Finder and welcome to your butterscotch.com Tutorial on how to use twitter from your desktop. I got quite to see emails about this and so I want to tell you in a brief over view of Seesmic Desktop. Now this is a very cool tool for both the MAC and the PC, both using Adobe Air and Seesmic Desktop is the replacement for twirl which got 1.2 million downloads. Now here is a program on my MAC, it works on the MAC and the PC. What really cool about it is that here is where you can put your tweet, here are replies, private messages sent and do multiple accounts. User list is cool because you can—say I wanted to have a list of all the people that work with me at butterscotch.com. So I could create a group called Butterscotch and then I could add people to it. Another cool thing here is that I can do tabs so here is home, there is the replies, there is sent so I can actually keep going out to the side or I can bring it back in to one column. It makes it easy to add the URL it also makes it very easy to use tweet pick and share an image and even video. You can configure it easily, add your accounts, type in your name here, notifications you can decide if you want to enable the notifications. Whether it uses the window and sound, or just the window, or not at all, how long it should show it and how loud the sound volume should be. Your language in advanced you can have it automatically update and if you're done making changes there click apply and then save. So this is Seesmic Desktop, I’ll be coming back to do a multi parts series on this because it has a lot of functions. So this is a great way to use twitter from your desktop and that’s all there is to it.
