Coach Smith: From here, we have a setter on the net, and she is just stationary, and we toss the ball to her and she sets the ball outside to our target. We want to catch ten balls before we switch. Our target then bounces the ball to the tosser. So it is continuous. The chair is there -- since you two pretty much safe we are going to assume that our outsides jump at least six to ten feet from the ground and the ball needs to be at that height. The ball -- it does us no good to catch a ball here that is low because that means it is low, below the net. So we get up on a chair to accentuate the attack approach, and the swing from our attacker.
We have done 10 ones and now we are going to move her around and she wants to hit the same spot, again, 10 times no matter where the ball is. And that is a little too tight, again this is a little too low. There is a good ball, a little off, that is okay; we can do something like that. Make your move, keep the balls nice and high. These are all balls along the net that she has to get to a spot, 10 perfect in order for she get out of the drill. Good.
Notice how she moves her left foot first and her right foot is always is in the forward and is always closest to the net. So it always a left right movement; the last two steps -- good, so it falls there. It is still the same feet in front; you need to push that up. Good.
