Taniya Nayak: It’s time to set the table, Thanksgiving means your dining table is bound to
be busy. Wondering we’re all that silver wear really goes, or if you put the
water glass on the right or the left. It’s really a breeze to get it right as long
as you know a couple of tea tips for setting a great table. When you set the
table start of with the dinner plate, top off with a salad plate then add a
napkin inside an elegant napkin ring. Table etiquette goes like this, the
first utensils to be use go on the salad, the salad fork and the table spoon
and don’t forget the knife plate always faces in. a teaspoon can be place at
the top of the settings so it’s always available for coffee or tea. Glasses go
to the right, that means the water glass goes with tip of the knife and your
wine glass goes right next to it. And there it is, you have now set the table
for an evening of elegance. Another option for you holiday gathering, is to
try a casual table setting, a charger, dinner plate and salad plates still make
up the base for the setting but for a casual setting you can mix and match
your plate styles. If you don’t have all that fancy silver wear go ahead and
use your everyday settings. A fork, knife and spoon, just put the fork on
the left and the spoon and knife on the right.
Put the knife plate facing in, the chunky amber water glasses can also be
use for wine glasses and a casual table setting and should be place at the
tip of the knife. Whether your fan of elegant or casual, setting you table
correctly is the easiest knowing left from right.
