Hi, this is Kristen from I do wedding essentials and were learning how to create a candy buffet. Right now were going to talk about assembling the buffet. As you can see we’ve chosen to do a pink and green theme and we have two different types of taffy, some rock candy, some jelly belly jellybeans and some lint truffles. For this buffet we kind of have a mix of wrapped and unwrapped candy, usually if you’re trying to save a little bit of money its good to go the wrapped route because that tends to be bigger candy, so you can do maybe like three pounds of a bigger candy. Where as you can see this container, I probably have about seven pounds of jelly beans in here, so big difference between three pounds of taffy and seven pounds of jelly beans and we’ve got kind of all kind of different shapes and sizes and textures. We go the nice truffles that kind of melt in your mouth and the rock candy on the sticks that’s really bright, its really fun and I almost chew that every time I do a buffet.
And then of course we talked about the taffy before you can get that in every color and in pretty much in every flavor too, so basically all I’ve done is fill up every container. There’s probably about at least six pounds of taffy in this container as suppose to three in this one, so do keep that in mind when picking your containers and I’ve kept my plastic wrap on the jellybeans. And I would have also kept it on the rock candy unit the very last minute because you always have lots of staff walking around you know putting finishing touches on tables and especially during winter months, you got a lots of sneezing and stuff. So try to keep stuff covered until the very last minute, so once you’ve got everything uncovered then you got everything kind of setup the way you want it. I just have a simple little setup here, we got you know, green and pink and green and pink and then a little mix in the middle.
You can pick whether you want to do scoops or tongs basically for this one, I’m just going to put scoops in pretty much everything. For the taffy, it doesn’t scoop that and create but its not too bad, you can easily provide tongs, you can either just kind of stick it in like this or set it down at the edge of the table and for the truffles. Its kind of something that you can just grab since they’re wrapped but you know for effect we can put a little scoop in it. Just so it looks uniformed and kind of looks cute and scoops are easy to find. You can find them online or you can find them at a kitchenware store or somewhere like that.
So we basically got our buffet assembled and next were just going to talk about some other options for when you setup your containers.
