In basting is use to temporary hold the fabric together at time then team basting is not enough. For example if you want to check beautiful garment before permanently stitching together machine basting is the best method. Also, machine basting is a long stitch that is easily removed afterwards.
I use my regular all purpose detect foot and my all purpose middle plate. My stitch switch is usually set somewhere between two and two and a half in regular sewing for basting you want to set it at your longest stitching sometimes you use slightly left on the longest stitching that is really slippery fabric. But today’s fabric let us use the longest.
Basting is just like any other stitching makes sure you need as a high position place your starting underneath your perceive foot. I have slashing to doctor so I do not have to worry about my pin breaking my needles. If you do not then you need to remove the pins before you start sawing. Press foot pedals for power and so the straight line.
Do not do reverse stitch because it would not be as easy to remove the basting or if you are using forgathering you will need to be able to call-off the stitching. Removing basting is easy because the stitches are long. Often you can just pull the thread and clip.
