At this time, they will show you some of the cool features in this application and why it is such a big integral part final cut studio two even though it is not included, it used to be back in the day when it was on version two. It was almost a $10,000.00 program. It was a $10,000.00 application then $70,000.00 a year after that for your rendered losses. Now, it has come down to like $499.00 and I recommend anybody who is halfway serious about depositing a visual effects or anybody that has final cut studio to get shake. Granted, apple has probably come out with a new compositor in 2008 sometime to replace shake but I am assuming it is going to be more expensive than shake so I am going to stick with shake because it has been used on so many movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, all of the Lord of The Rings, and Harry Potter. I got a list around here somewhere but it just go on and on and on.
So, here is what I got, I want to show you the quick auto align feature and shake. This is awesome. As you can see, I have some pictures up here. This is not just a race car, radio grab. Now, I got this, this is the one that I am concentrating on these three right here. Now I am going to make this one, let us see if I can get it up because I could not see it. The middle one, I will make this one my left one and I will make this one my right one. So now what I am going to do is, I am going to select my first picture here and I want to go down to my layers or transform tab and I am going to select the auto align.
That is going to throw another auto align note. So now, what I am going to do is, I am going to drag my other three pictures down to auto align and I will just going to tell shake that when I come down here, you can be precise or robust, precise do not do it for you, robust will most of the time. Now, when I hit analyze, it is going to tell shake to start working and shake is going to start working putting this pictures together and it is going to give me a solid plate. This is how you work with plates in shake so this should give us one solid picture, here we go.
Let us hit analyze, this might take a minute. His father is doing some heavy computations here, this is why shake is so powerful, and there we go. We go to the viewer, hit the “F” key and boom, as you can see, it has put these three plates together, and it lets you pick your blend mode which is on none right now. I am going to put it to smart blend.
If I put it to mix you can see where it is overlapping here and put smart blend is probably the best result. This one will try to match the luminance, match its lumen. So, now we have this one big plate. So now, I am going to hit the space bar here, look at it, it looks very good. I am now going to select my auto align mode, I want to add a crap mode. So now, since I have added my crap note, I am going to make sure my crap mode is selected. I will go to my viewer, hit the space bar, and scale it up. I will just grab my crop edges here, crop it down. Now, there we go guys, a full-sized plate at full resolution. Can you tell that, that was three separate pictures? You tell me. Where do you see it that it was three separate pictures? This is the power of shake, guys. I hope you learned something. We will see you next time.
