Should I use Facebook to get to know my new roommate? Facebook is a very positive tool for communication but to get to know your room mate you’re going to have to do more than Facebook. Facebook is superficial and it’s filtered by what that person wants to put up there and you need to ask questions through email and most likely phone to really get to know your roommate and understand who that person is. Most housing operations will not allow you to change your room mate based on Facebook information. It is superficial information that conversations and interactions are going to be required before we do any kind of room changes.
