Do I have to give a gift for both a wedding shower and a wedding?

You should plan on giving a gift if you were invited to both, a bridal shower and the wedding.

The only exception to that rule is if you can’t attend one or the other, you don’t need to send or present a gift. If you’re very, very close to the couple however and you received that wedding invitation, you will probably send a gift in some way shape or form. But the rule of them is if you can’t attend the event, you normally do not have to present a gift.
