Should You Give A Gift If You Only Received The Wedding Announcement

If I received a wedding announcement but was not invited to the wedding, must I give a wedding gift? It’s not necessary to send a wedding gift. An announcement is just letting you know that the couple has married and often it’s giving you a new address for them. It is appropriate to send a card of congratulations but if you are very close to the family, either side or to the individuals, you may in fact want to send a wedding gif that is not required when you receive a wedding announcement.
