In this lesson, we’re going to go through some cool techniques that incorporate easy to pick to hammer on and slide on the fret board instead of actually using it to pluck the strings. I’ll break this down into different techniques and show you the details. Check it out.
First, flip the pick sideways. This actually contacts the strings. Using your wrist as a pivot point, just hammer on the desired note to let out to get the fretted note. Try get even more notes out of each picking hammer on by pulling off more notes with your flat hands.
Now, try to hammer on the note. You quickly slide the pick up or down the frets to the next note. Expand it with the entire fret board and with sliding over multiple frets.
Alright, here’s how you get some really speed. You sort of lock your entire lower arm just pass out and vibrate like you’re having a seizure. You can really enhance these sounds with some bending.
For this next technique, you should hold the pick so the top is down. Hammer on and pull off any notes with your fret hand while use the pick as a one-string capo. Move it around to change the pull-off.
Try this with one, two, and three finger pull offs with some really unique style. Experiment with this stuff and to incorporate it into some solos and songs. Your talent is a way to fly with these techniques.
So get creative and have fun.
