Scott: Hi! My name is Scott, I am from Washington DC, and I was wondering what are some signs of heart disease in young people? Charles Campbell: Hi Scott! There really aren't a lot of very specific signs of heart disease among young people. I think it's very reasonable to seek an evaluation if you have a lot of palpitations, that's a heart that raises or skips; if you have exertional chest discomfort. But most importantly, you should seek counseling and guidance if you have a family history of high cholesterol or a family history of early cardiac death or early myocardial infarctions.
