Veronica: Simon Kneen adds his own touch to Banana Republic Spring Collection. Hi! I am Veronica of WatchMojo.com, and today we are looking at one of the chicest collections from Banana Republic.
Simon Kneen is the designer behind this collection. How did he add his own touch to the classic Banana Republic look?
Tara Wickwire: What he has brought to us is a great collection of sportswear pieces, with really special details and interesting colors. I think what you'll notice in the collection is a lot of architectural details, pleating, interesting cuts.
Veronica: He has added some new colors to the classic Banana Republic color palette. What are they?
Tara Wickwire: For spring, he introduced a lot of beautiful colors, ranging from corals, and really pops of kind of cobalt blue, kind of deep turquoise, and then moving into hue and pastels, he has got some pale oranges and mint greens as well.
Veronica: We are seeing lots of different lengths for skirts, which one is the most flattering for different body types?
Tara Wickwire: The maxi length obviously will -- it's more for -- might be for a taller customer. The three-quarter length is also a challenging length, at kind of mid-calf, so you really need to pair it up with the right shoe, like a great heel. The classic knee length is pretty much a universal style, that can be fitting for anyone.
Veronica: Now, there are so many choices here also with a neckline. Which options are available to us?
Tara Wickwire: For the V-neck cut, it really elongates the neck, it can really make you appear taller, so there is lots in that way. And then we have a lot of pieces with interesting detail kind of at the neckline, so it will really draw attention to your top, just look for those details, bows, ruffles, pleating, those are all very feminine and really flattering.
Veronica: Are we seeing any new trends coming back into style?
Tara Wickwire: Well, there is a really good 60s influence in this collection. So a lot of these like fitted shift dresses, but then an interesting fabric, some metallic finishes, and really great cuts with interesting details.
Veronica: Well, thank you very much.
Tara Wickwire: Great. Thank you very much.
