Hey guys, this is John again. I want to play the song, 'Simple Man' by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I will show you how to play picking pattern. And that's really all you are going to need for the chords maybe one that gets a little harder later on in the song but initially and for almost the song, you just play the same pattern over and over. So, let's get started.
Three basic chords needed for the song are C, G, and A Minor and the pattern sounds like this. The bassline sounds like this. So, just watch through what I did there. I started with a walk down on C. So, let me show you what I did with the guitar picking pattern. It starts with a walk down on the C and then I come up from the G string to the D string to A string and then I go -- I did that same thing and I put only a start now on the B string and I come up from there three strings.
And now I am going to go; now I'll play the G string again and I go over to G chord. Under the same exact pattern except I kind of move it down to the lower strings and I start at the D string come up, then I go to the G string and then hit on the D string. Then I go to A Minor, same thing but it will go a different, I am going to go. So I will play that last part twice there, play that twice and then I end it from my pinky here third fret on my E string.
So on the bass part, I do walk down same as start but then I go, play the second fret of my D string and Open B string, third fret of my A string and the third fret of my G string and play the D again, the D string, second fret, Open D, third fret of my A string, Open A and then I go Open A, third fret of my A and then Open A. Just like that.
So, it's going to go -- that's how I've combined the strumming pattern with the bass pattern, and it sounds great. When the song is going, you can --
