Claudia: Hi! I'm Claudia. I'm from Xenia, Ohio and I have heard of slipped discs and ruptured discs. I was wondering, what's the difference between the two and what it would feel like if I have one or the other. Dr. Daveed Frazier: Claudia, I really can't tell you what it feels like because I've never had one myself but I will state that most patients when they have a slipped or ruptured disc described either back pain or leg pain. The difference between a slipped disc, a ruptured disc, a herniated disc, or a bulging disc, well those are really just matters of semantics meaning that those terms can be used interchangeably that mean that the disc is displaced from a position, it normally should be at.
