Summer Knowles: Hi, I’m Summer Knowles with sbtv.com. And today we’re going to be talking about investing in your mobile office. So we all know that wireless technology can make a heck of a lot easier for business owners to manage the demands of their social life. With the demands on the job, so right now we’re going to be discussing all of that and the key components of creating a mobile office with Mr. Dave Takushi with Wireless Toyz. Hi, how are you?
Dave Takushi: Good thanks.
Summer Knowles: All right, what are these toys down here?
Dave Takushi: Well the probably the first step in the mobile office is the phone. And having some of this is considered is a smart phone. And by smart phone, I made a phone that can do your calendar, and do emails keep track of all your contacts. So you could have pretty much hold the information you need while you’re out about with just your phone. And so I can check all my emails when I’m out about. When I’m driving on a road trip on vacation, business trip whenever I might be, as well as if I have any to do list items that I maybe come up with a couple of ideas the things when I need to do when I get back. And click those put those in to there, and when I get back to the office I can sink it in to my computer.
Summer Knowles: So the first component is the cellphone.
Dave Takushi: Exactly, having a good smart phone.
Summer Knowles: Okay what’s the next one?
Dave Takushi: One of the next things is probably in there is Bluetooth headset or a Bluetooth speakerphone.
Summer Knowles: Okay we’ll talk about this first and then.
Dave Takushi: All right, with the Bluetooth headset, you’ll see so many people using these. But it is the safest things you use when you’re driving or if maybe you’re typing at your computer and you are on the phone at the same time. You have the Bluetooth headset on just makes a lot more convenient and are able to talk to the phone. As well a lot safer when you’re driving, it’s a variety, different styles that are available. This happens to be one that made by Blue Ant Z9 you see it is a pretty small size. The thing about Bluetooth headset these days is that when they first came out. You have people wear them a lot larger Bluetooth headsets.
As well as you could tell when you’re talking to somebody with Bluetooth headset, you hear a lot of background noise, echo that sound. With the new Bluetooth headset these days, they got good noise cancellation technology built in them. So if you’re in the front seat of the car and you’ve got kids or somebody else in the backseat and the radio is going. They filter a lot of that background noise so the person doesn’t know that maybe you are only at the beach. Or you got the kids you’re on way to 6 flags or some place else. They don’t need these all details sometimes but it allows you to just to be able have a good conversation and not to pick too much extra noise.
Summer Knowles: Let’s talk about the speakerphone, is that more for spending when you’re in a car by yourself and you want the kids in the backseat?
Dave Takushi: Or maybe you have a couple of co-workers sitting on the car, you’re on a business trip and you need conference a client. You can easily use something like this, this has a magnetic clip. It will clip on the visor and take it down. You bring it into the office also, have it on the desk use it as a speaker phone in your office too.
So it’s very convenient has great battery life on it. Has the noise cancellation technology built on it also and a great speaker on it too. So it’s great for by yourself and you’re having a conversation or maybe you want a couple more people join in on the conversation.
Summer Knowles: Okay what’s the next component, memory cards?
Dave Takushi: Yup, memory cards are going to be the next component. This happens to be a two-gigabyte memory card and the cards that are used in the phone these days are different than what you have on a digital camera template. And you can see the size of this is just a very tiny memory card. What the memory card will allow you to do is when you’re out about and take photos put that on the memory card. Take the memory card out and put it in to your computer, transfer those photos over there. We have some landscaping companies that they’ll use an order to take a picture to finish job. And put it on a computer and upload it to the website maybe thing like that. Other things you might use it for.
Summer Knowles: That will tidy up things.
Dave Takushi: Definitely does rather than carrying separate camera with you at times. You can also use it in store music on them maybe you’re going on a plane trip and you want to have some music on there you get on the plane. After they tell you that, it is okay to turn on your devises and you put on your headset on and start to listen to the music to plane ride. And I know when I travel I'm might carry a few number as I can because it is always too much for the brain. So if I can have a phone that does it all. I supposed to a phone and a laptop and then the I-pod can be great and very convenient and that’s that.
Summer Knowles: And you know pretty soon the more you bring, you’re have to start paying for those that like $15.00. Unless they can carry as probably going to be better are. What is our next component?
Dave Takushi: Next component is air card. This is one of the smaller air cards that are available and this is one that if I can open it up it here, this is a USB air card. What this allows you to do is you can plug this into your lap top computer and this is a variety different styles and sizes of these. But you can take your laptop and you can use it on your car or another city. Plug this and instantly you get a wireless connectivity as long as you have a cell phone signal typically.
And it is high speed so if I want to sit down with my laptop I’m out about I’m early for an appointment. And I have about an extra time I can put this on my laptop and I can bring up the internet. Where as the web take care of some of the work that I need to get done. Do some researches do any of those names on my laptop or if I am, I don’t have to search for hotspot. I don’t have to go a specific place and I’m just using it in my car or even for a drive. I’m driving to a middle of Missouri and just on the highway; I can us that point in time also.
Summer Knowles: And that’s one show for business owners should they just be using all of these. Can they pick and choose or do they pretty much need all of these components to have a successful mobile office?
Dave Takushi: If you want to start with one or two components, you can definitely do that. I think having all of these available is definitely allows you the most productivity. But yet for somebody who is not using any of them right now. It might be a little bit overkill and all of a sudden go out and buy all four of them at once. But if you start with one and we really specialize in helping the business owners if they come in and could set up an appointment with us. And we help them figure out what’s the best device for them. What’s the good way to get started? We’ll help them set-up their emailing device because they maybe never use email or a device before other than their home computer or their work computer. We’ll help them out with those things to make it easier because the last thing you want to do. As a business owner you want to be productive, you don’t want to have to come in and get a new device and all of a sudden it kills your productivity because you don’t know how to use it.
So we specialize in helping costumers pick the right things for them and helping to show them how to use them.
Summer Knowles: And now you are encouraging them to buy some of the stuff for them please or to encourage them please. To get it as well, they can be all interconnected and have to bit and the boss is out there and he has all this technology he or she has all the technology but them please don’t how that work?
Dave Takushi: That’s a great point, its start’s off a lot of times in the boss and sometimes the boss has the stuff. And then it can help your entire work force become much more productive. You have sales person that it’s out on the field and they’re going from appointment to appointment. If they have an hour gap between appointments they have a computer where they can go to the internet. Or have a phone where they can check their email it helps their productivity instead of an hour downtime. They got an hour of productivity if you’re paying them in order to do it; you want to get the most productivity that you can.
Helps them so that when they go home at night, they don’t have to worry about checking their email and taking care of those things, so I think it is important for everybody across the board. The boss as well as the workers and if you have people that are driving around, definitely a Bluetooth headset or taking your Bluetooth phone and pairing it with a car if it has Bluetooth built-in and it’s definitely safest thing to do.
Helps reduce I thinks the liability also if you have employees and they’re driving around on a phone.
