Ivy: Absolutely! Tell me more about this virtual conference.
Sharon: Well, it’s the online international Virtual Assistant Convention. It’s not just a conference, it’s a convention and we have VH from all over the world participate all online.
Ivy: Okay, how is that possible?
Sharon: Well we call in or plug in to our laptops and desktop computers and actually visit a meeting area where we can actually hear seminars, workshops, have networking events and even have an exhibit at the hall. So it’s just like a brick and mortar convention except you’re doing it from the comfort of your home.
Ivy: And you can do it anywhere in the world.
Sharon: Anywhere in the world and it runs from 8 am to 12 midnight so it doesn’t matter what time zone you’re in, you can plug in and participate.
Ivy: And you can also give get things downloaded so that the different topics or seminars, so you can watch it many times.
Sharon: Oh absolutely!
Ivy: Okay talk about the different seminars that will be offered.
Sharon: Well, it can range anywhere from basic business building, marketing plans, creation, web 2.0 technology training. Well we’re going to have people talking about our responders and shopping carts. All the technology things we need to know to run a business effectively and of course work with our clients.
Ivy: Give us the dates of the event and how we can get more information.
Sharon: The event is held annually the third week of May and this year’s going to be held Thursday, May 14 through Saturday May 16, USA. Of course their dates are different in different parts of the continent.
Ivy: And how can you register for the event and how much is the cost?
Sharon: You can register on-line at www.OIVAC.com and the seminar is actually only $25.00 per piece so you can pick the seminars that you want to attend. If there are some of the topics that you’re interested in, sign up for those or if there are topics you’re not interested in, and then skip them. You have the choice.
Ivy: Other than being entirely online, is there something about this convention that sets it apart from other conventions?
Sharon: Well absolutely! First of all, it’s the first of its kind for the industry and the only convention for the industry that’s online where everybody can participate in.
Secondly, because we’re using new technology, it’s something that a lot of the individuals aren’t even aware of so we’re actually introducing people to technologies that they’ve never used before, but that they can then in turn use to work with their own clients.
Ivy: Wow! Thank you so much Sharon.
Well if you want more information on the convention you can go to OIVAC.com. You can also look for more segments on virtual assisting with Sharon right here on sbtv.com.
